My husband and I stayed at the Royal Hotel back in November 2019. Overall we are very happy with the hotel. The rooms are a little smaller ( especially for American standards), but still very charming and had everything we needed. The room was equipped with a TV that allows guests to log in to Netflix, which surprisingly not a lot of hotels have yet. It also had the basics such as kettle, coffee maker, tea bags, etc… The bathroom had everything we needed. Perhaps our favorite amenity was the towel warmer. This is not something that we Americans are not used to. But given the somewhat chilly weather, this was a welcome surprise. The location was another great aspect of this hotel. Bath is small enough where you can walk anywhere, regardless. But it was very convenient when we arrived and left as it’s a few minutes away from the bus station and right across from the GWR station that took us back to London. It’s also close to a lot of restaurants, shopping centers, and convenience stores. Also, very close to the Roman Baths . One thing to note… On the day of our departure, we asked to leave our luggage in their storage since our train didn’t leave until mid-day and we wanted to walk around before leaving. They kindly allowed us to but were told we had to get our luggage to them early as its first come first serve with very limited space. Luckily we didn’t have any issues there but something to consider. We also opted for the breakfast which was great! In addition to a hot plated meal that included sausage, eggs, and veggies, you can also get continental breakfast items such as pastries, yogurt, and fruit. Service was great and we were very happy. All in all, we definitely recommend this hotel.
