We have just spent the night at Royal Hotel in Bath having stayed on a dinner bed and breakfast basis. Fantastic value for money- the hotel is as you would expect for an old hotel located next to the train station. What really sets the hotel apart is the food and staff. The food was absolutely superb at the Brunel bistro- 3 excellent courses of classic cuisine. This is not a modern trendy establishment but what it lacks in modern touches it more than makes up for quality dining. Breakfast was equally and good with a wide array of hot options and a fair selection of continental options. Anna served us both for dinner and breakfast, what an asset she is. Friendly hard working and super attentive absolutely service as it should be. She very thoughtfully wished me a happy birthday and presented me with a glass of Prosecco, this was such a lovely touch. Thank you Anna. If your after modern boutique style this hotel is not for you. However if you want friendly service excellent food and value for money in a convenient location then it’s absolutely for you. If your noise sensitive then bear in the mind the hotel is near the train station and it’s a period building with original shutter windows.
