7 reasons to visit Bath

Personally I can think of dozens of reasons why you would want to visit bath, but instead of reeling them all off I’m going to give you just 7. I think 7 is a sufficient number that will whet your appetite so to speak and encourage you to visit Bath and enjoy all that it has to offer.

Once you have sorted out your Accommodation in Bath it will then be time to start exploring, and my goodness, there is a lot to explore:

1. Jane Austen

Millions of people visit Bath every year because they know it had a huge impact on Jane Austen’s life and work. In Bath you will find the Jane Austen Centre which pays homage to one of the worlds’ most loved writers. You will also get the chance to see where Austen walked and where she got her inspiration for her novels. 2. The Local Gardens Although Bath may be somewhat of a sprawling and ever-growing city, it’s also home to a large number of parks and gardens. If you love to visit parks and take a gentle stroll or if you love a picnic in a quiet part of a garden somewhere, you’re sure to love Bath. Royal Victoria Park offers you some great views of the city whereas Parade Gardens offer you the chance to relax in very elegant surroundings. 3. The Royal Crescent The Royal Crescent is probably one of Britain’s best known landmarks. Used as a backdrop in many films and a delight to view, this circular row of houses has to be seen to be believed. Built in the 18th century The Royal Crescent is a great spot for a walk and a picnic.

4. The Roman Baths

You simply cannot visit Bath without taking a trip to the Roman Baths and hearing about the Roman’s impact on the area. Steeped in history and an ideal place to bathe in 70AD the baths still fill with water and continue to be a source of fascination almost 2,000 years later.

5. Bath Museums

Bath is full to the brim of museums in fact it has more museums in a square mile than many other cities through-out the world. The American Museum in Britain is a fascinating place to visit as is the Herschel Museum of Astronomy. Some museums charge entry while others are free, no matter which one you visit, you’re sure to have a wonderful time.
