Live the Frankenstein Experience

This one is new for the summer of 2024. The Show of Strength Theatre Company and Mary Shelly’s House of Frankenstein join forces to present The Frankenstein Experience throughout the month of August. This consists of a 1-hour walking tour as well as entry into Mary Shelley’s House of Frankenstein museum. The SoS Theatre Company will provide visitors with true gothic tales related to Mary Shelley’s most famous creation: Frankenstein’s monster.

Take a Walking Tour of the Bath Assembly Rooms

These days the Bath Assembly Rooms is a Grade 1 Listed Building, but in their heyday, they were the place where respectable people in Bath came together to enjoy concerts, balls, gambling and high tea. Designed by John Wood the Younger in the 18th century they became a favourite place for luminaries including Jane Austen, Charles Dickens and Thomas Gainsborough to rub elbows. These tours last nearly 2 hours so make sure you set aside ample time and keep in mind that the tours are intended for adults.

Take in Toulouse-Lautrec and the Masters of Montmartre at the Victoria Art Gallery

Toulouse-Lautrec is synonymous with the decadent and dazzling nightlife of turn-of-the-20th-century Paris, and in particular, Montmartre. His active, brightly coloured canvases captured all the energy and optimism of the day and are considered some of the true gems of the post-impressionist era.
