Bath may not be as well known for its fishing as it is for its architecture, but if you know where to loo there are some fantastic days out with the rod to be had. Bath is dotted with some fantastic spots for anglers, it’s just a question of knowing where to head. Brokerswood Country Park is an 80 acre area of parkland, and its lake’s embankment makes a popular spot for roach, perch and carp fishing. Anglers must book in advance, and the prices are £5.50 per adult and £4.50 for seniors and children.
There’s a dedicated stretch for fishing found in Avon Valley Adventure and Wildlife Park, and you’ll find this a good spot for catching brown trout, babel and perch. The lake is well-stocked too, so it’s a great choice for the serious fisherman –the average catch there weighs in at an impressive 10lb!
After a day out in the elements you’ll no doubt need some luxurious Bath accommodation to return to, and the Royal Hotel has it all. With a centre location, peaceful surroundings and bedrooms with the wow factor it’ll be a welcome sight after a long day beside the river. There are even mid week deals available.
