From the moment I arrived at Royal Hotel Bath, I was made to feel welcome and at home. The staff was so friendly, welcoming and always good for a chat. When talking about my plans to just see where the wind would take me while in Bath with only a visit to the Roman Baths as a definite must, I was quickly advised to check the website as they weren’t sure the site allowed walk-ins on the day (hint: they don’t, so you must pre-book entry).
My room (a twin room) was light, airy, spacious (even if I’d had a travel companion) and clean.
Breakfast was served in the restaurant and guests were seated with space between to allow for social distancing and was of good quality and with a varied selection available.
All staff wore masks and guests were encouraged to wear masks in hallways and common areas as well and hand sanitiser was placed by the elevator on every floor and in the rooms.
The hotel is ideally located when travelling by train as it is just opposite from Bath Spa station and just a 5 minute walk +/- from the Roman Baths and the shopping area. Pulteney Bridge and Parade Gardens is only 10 min walk away, so you are really in the middle of everything.
Despite being just by the station, I did not hear any of the trains, only normal traffic noise from the street filtering up to 3rd floor.
Having had plans that like million others were kicked curb by the pandemic, I am happy I ended up deciding on going to Bath and my stay at Royal Hotel has made it one of my very best decisions of 2020.
I highly recommend staying here and look forward to my next stay!
Thanks for making my time in Bath special.
