My Wife and i have just returned fron a 2 night break at this fabulous Hotel. The Royal never disappoints. I won’t go into too much detail about the Hotel as i,ve reviewed it several times before.
It’s nice to see it up and running as before lockdown. We stayed from Sun 9 to Tues 11 Aug. on a loyalty deal which was great value for money. £258 for a 2 night stay incl breakfast , lunch or dinner, cream tea with champagne and a bottle of wine up to the value of £25 . An unbeatable deal.
We stayed in room 205 which was tastefully decorated with floral wallpaper. good sized flat screen t,v comfortable bed.Good sized odour free bathroom. room was spotless [well done cleaners].
The Staff as always were polite ,friendly ,respectful and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. They still go that extra mile to ensure that you enjoy your stay.

The food at breakfast and dinner [We were out lunchtimes] was superb.
Whoever the Chef was 11 out of 10. Your cooking is of the highest standard.
I ordered Sea bass for Dinner both nights. WOW. I have never tasted better Sea Bass anywhere. The aspragus starter also wow and dessert superb My mouth is watering at the thought of all that delicious food.
Finally Mike you run a really tight ship and everyone pulls together. You are always available to talk to and you work your socks off as well.
Totally impressed with eveything at the Royal as always. You should all be proud of the jobs that you do. The Royal is and always will be the best hotel we have stayed at and you are still our home from home. Also excellent measures in place to deal with the current covid 19 situation.
