Believe we have stayed in The Royal 8 or 9 times. This was as always a relaxing comfortable stay. In a 4 poster bedroom on the dinner bed and breakfast rate. This is a bargain with dinner at £19 for three courses selected from the Brunel Brasserie al a carte menu with no exceptions. So if you want a grilled steak at @£16 you can as well as starters and dessert. The bar was a little hectic and as commonly appeared understaffed, but the young lady behind the bar coped adequately. Recommend if you have a room in the front close the windows on a weekend night, for such a gentle town nightlife can be rather raucous.
Will be looking forward to another visit in the future.
