My Husband and I had a much needed break away and stayed at the Royal Hotel in Bath for three nights.
The Hotel did not disappoint. It is a quirky building with beautiful decor and a two person lift to all floors, ( this is in keeping with the style of the Hotel)
We stayed in one of the Superior Rooms which had an en suite. The bed was extremely comfortable and had duck feathers pillows and duvet. The linen was Egyptian Cotton.
There is a desk and chairs.
The room had a supply of complimentary hot drinks, including ground coffee, a cafeteria with complimentary biscuits and chocolates.
Dressing gowns and slippers were also available for use.
The room also had a hairdryer, a locked safe as well as an ironing board, ( an iron is available from reception).
There is also a trouser press and a landline telephone.
On arrival Heidi was on reception and made us feel very welcome. We had difficulty unlocking our room door and asked Heidi for help which she gave us very willingly and we were quickly in the room.
On the first evening I sprained my ankle very badly. All through the weekend the bar staff and Tim on Reception were very supportive and gave us ice and extra towels so that I could put ice on the swelling. Nothing was too much trouble.
For breakfast there was a choice of a continental breakfast, cereal, fruit, fruit juices as well as a good variety of cooked breakfasts. Each cooked to order and to a high standard.
We also had an evening meal in the Restaurant and another one in the Bar. Both meals were delicious and once again cooked to a high standard.
All staff, from Reception, Front of House, Kitchen, House Keeping and Night Porters were excellent and made for a very relaxing and enjoyable stay.
We would definitely recommend this Hotel (which is two minutes from the Railway Station and five minutes from the bus station) to anyone looking for a relaxing few days away or even for business purposes.
We would most definitely stay here again.
Huge thanks to all the staff for looking after us so well.
